Noelle's New Bath Time

Brady now likes to "help" with Noelle's bath.  What that usually consists of is throwing way too many toys on her.  He also likes to pour the water on her... most of the time he's good about it but he gets too excited sometimes and splashes water in her eyes.  We're not sure she's a fan of Brady helping with her bath.

Christmas Fail

This was the first year we decorated the tree while Brady was awake.  It turns out we should have waited another year.  Brady's interest lasted about 2 minutes.  Then he started destroying things.  He thought all our globe ornaments were balls he could throw and throw he did.  So far there's only one casualty.

Example 1: Brady pulled off different ornaments off this mini tree.

Example 2: Brady wanted nothing to do with the lights.  Just look at his face in this picture.

And here's a few of Sean finishing the lights

Brady the Builder

Brady LOVES his blocks right now.  He builds towers taller than himself than has a blast knocking them over.  Then he does the same thing again :)

Noelle's First Solid Food

So we gave Noelle oatmeal on Sunday.  NOT a fan.  At all.

This picture pretty much sums up Noelle's feelings on solid food.

And we called it when she started to gag and cry.

Hanging out with Noelle

Noelle does this funny thing where she sticks out her tongue... sometimes she blows raspberries and sometimes she doesn't.  And either way it's funny :)

Happy 6 Month Birthday Noelle!

I took these on the 20th...

Big smiles for daddy!

I love this one!

Look at those toes!

What a big girl Noelle is now!  There have been lots of changes in the last month.

Let's start with sleep... the good news is we have a semi-regular nap schedule.  She takes a 1.5-2 hour morning nap and then takes a 1.5 hour afternoon nap.  Now, she also still needs a late afternoon nap, but for the most part she refuses to take this nap unless I hold her... which I've stopped doing.  So she's usually a hot mess around 5pm or so.  Night time sleeping is not nearly as predictable or wonderful.  Her streak of waking once to eat then going back to sleep ended and now we are back to two feedings a night and sometimes an early morning wake up around 5 or so. We've tried some sleep training, but that doesn't appear to be helping much and we are trying to figure out a way to stop feeding her as much overnight.  She still sleeps in our room in a pack n play, but we are biting the bullet and putting her in Brady's room over Thanksgiving.  Pray for all of us.

Noelle can now roll both ways, although she really prefers hanging out on her stomach most of the time.  She can also sit up without assistance for short spurts, and if she uses her hands to "tripod" she can sit alone for a few minutes.  She loves grabbing toys and stuffing them in her mouth.  She also discovered her feet and loves to grab them whenever the mood strikes.  She is much more giggly and I think one of her favorite things to do is belly laugh for Brady.

We just started feeding her cereal on the 20th... so far she's not a fan and seems to gag.  From what I remember with Brady, his initial reaction was similar.

Also, we ditched the pacifier because Noelle never really seemed that interested in it.  She barely noticed or cared.  We no longer have a single pacifier in our house and it's very freeing.

Finally, Noelle had her 6 month check up on the 19th and she's doing great!  She weighs 15 lbs. 4 oz. and is 26 inches long.  That puts her just above the 50% for height and just under the 50% for weight.

Brady's Eating Hijinx

Brady is a very opinionated toddler.  We pick and choose our battles, and this was not the battle to choose.

And here he is making his version of the "cheese" face.
