Sitting/Slouching

Newest Obsession

Brady's newest thing is to hold his hands. He does this ALL the time. He even does this as he is falling asleep at night. It's hilarious. The bonus to this new obsession is that he has learned to suck on his thumb, so at bedtime, instead of us giving him the pacifier, we let him find his thumb. Generally speaking, this results in very few, if any, middle of the night wakings for the pacifier.

Brady also has become very adept at grabbing small toys. His current favorite is this monkey that squeaks. Sometimes when he grabs it, he tries to stuff it in his mouth.

First Day at Day Care

So far so good with day care. The teachers love him as he's the youngest baby there right now. And Brady is starting to get a little better with naps at day care (as are his teachers getting better at getting him/keeping him asleep). The best part for mom and dad: the huge smiles we get when he sees us after day care. The worst part for mom and dad: he's usually so tired that he basically eating/napping on mom until dad gets home, then we do his bedtime routine and he's asleep between 6:40-7:00.

3 Months Old!!

I'm three months old already?!?! Are you guys sure?

Big smiles first thing in the morning!!
Why am I sitting in a chair by myself?

See, I told you guys I couldn't sit up by myself yet. Are you going to help me or take more pictures?

An example of him grabbing at a toy, though getting Leroy the lion's nose is probably a losing battle with his tiny hands.

'Sup?

How are the girls at daycare going to resist this?

Chubby cheeks!

Mesmerized by his toes.

Brady turned three months old today! We can't believe how big he is getting - he really does look like a little man now. He's doing a lot of new things. He grabs at his toys, sometimes with success, sometimes not. He also loves to touch and grab our faces and hands. He also loves to look at his feet. And he started to roll from belly to back, although he's still pretty inconsistent about when he'll do it. He stuffs his fists in his mouth but hasn't really figured out thumb/finger sucking. Overall, he's gotten so much more fun this past month. He follows our voices and loves, loves, loves to look around at everything! We still struggle a lot with sleep - his affection/obsession with the pacifier seems all encompassing and he tends to wake for it numerous times in the middle of the night. Unless he stops doing that in the next month or so, his days with his pacifier are numbered.

More Playmat time

Brady seems to especially like the playmat that comes with his exersaucer. There is the koala, the butterfly, the dragon fly and a toucan...

He has mastered the art of actually grabbing the dragonfly and shaking it around. I left the area for a minute the other day, and this is what I found:

And he seemed perfectly content with his inability to see.

Strong Little Man

We have hit a wonderful stride with tummy time. The little man actually seems to enjoy it, looks around and has rolled over from his tummy to his back for the past week or so.

Cutest face ever. Enough said.

This is hard work!

And now we need a break from all the head holding...

And now that tummy time is more challenging, the little man tends to drool and get some very serious expressions on his face...

This is one of our favorites... he looks like he's cooking something up...

And here he is about to roll over:
