Yogurt Mess
Noelle likes yogurt, but just like she hated purees, she hates when we spoon feed her, even yogurt. What she has decided she prefers is to scoop the yogurt up off her tray and lick her fingers. That's definitely as messy as it sounds...
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
Noelle's official birthday party is in a few days, but we had a mini-celebration at home on her birthday. Brady was super excited to sing Happy Birthday. In fact, we had to sing it 3-4 times. Everyone also got a "birthday cupcake."
Now, to her credit, Noelle grabbed that cupcake right away and had quite the time smooshing frosting between her fingers... Other than that and a quick taste, she wasn't too impressed.
Trying to stop her from touching the flame on her candle...
OK.. I'm over it. Please get the frosting off my fingers and get me out of here. Now.
And what I didn't capture on film was her getting so fed up with it that she tossed her cupcake straight onto the floor for Olive... that dog sure does love when she eats.
Brady also got a cupcake, but other than one bite, he wanted nothing to do with it, either.

One Year Old!
Noelle turned one on 5-20-12. Here are the photos we took this morning. Such a big girl!!

So what's new with Noelle this month?
Well, not so much new this month. Sleep is pretty similar to last month and we haven't really done anything about it because she's been sick for half the month with either a cold and/or ear infection. So she still eats once in the middle of the night. Sean likes to say she's like a gremlin - cute and laid-back during the day and a crazy monster at night ;)
She eats well during the day and she started using a sippy cup to drink water and milk, although she still takes three bottles when she goes to daycare. The funny thing is she's figured out how to use a straw, unlike her 2.5 year old brother who still has no clue what to do when given a straw... We'll probably get rid of bottles altogether in the next month or two.
She are becoming much more opinionated and has started to throw mini-tantrums when we thwart what she's doing (such as hitting the dog or TV).
She still crawls everywhere... she also stands all the time now and can easily stand up from sitting without pulling up on anything. She is also super super close to taking your first steps. She seems to be contemplating it when she stands sometimes but then either dives forward arms first or goes back to crawling. She also cruises the furniture a lot more. We also discovered that Noelle can easily crawl all the way up a flight of stairs.
And still no real words - just lots of babbling and growling. Yes, growling.

So even though it was 85 this weekend, Brady insisted on putting on his gloves and daddy's winter hat, in the house, while the A/C was on...
Sickness
All four of us were overcome with a bad cold virus over the past two weeks. Brady and I were the last to succumb... and here's a picture of the poor little guy on one of the days he felt the worst.

Having Fun With the Play Kitchen
Noelle has started to stand up and play with Brady's kitchen. Unfortunately, she only gets to play with it when Brady isn't around... otherwise he kind of takes over and doesn't give her space to play.
New "Toys"
Noelle has finally started to go through the cabinets. This weekend she found a bunch of plastic bags and had a blast shaking them around. Brady couldn't resist either.
His Green Truck!
Brady remembered about his mini power wheel this weekend. He calls it his green truck and he makes sure everyone we see knows that it's his and his alone.

Double Stroller Ride
We bought an extra seat to turn our stroller into a double. Both Noelle and Brady (shocker) seem to like the arrangement.
Noelle is super comfortable in the stroller - and she always sits like a lady :) The funny thing is that she sits like this in her highchair sometimes, too.
