Cooking for us

Brady Dancing/Jumping

Playing on Christmas Morning

We spent Christmas morning at our house and were able to let Brady and Noelle play with their new toys.  Here are some pictures of them:

Here's Noelle with her house:

An overview of all the toys.  It seriously looks like we're advertising for Fisher Price here.

And here's Brady playing with all of Noelle's toys.  She doesn't know any better and he thinks everything is his.

And one of Brady's favorites - the matchbox cars Santa left in his stocking.

Don't worry - Brady loves his kitchen too, we just didn't get any pictures of his using it so far.

Santa Came to Our House

Here's what we saw in the morning after Santa came!!

This is Noelle's big present

Christmas Eve!

Noelle all dressed up (bow in her hair and all)

And Brady... he was tricky to photograph given that he threw a monster tantrum about wearing his Christmas outfit in the first place.  Fun times getting him dressed if it's not what he wants to wear.  These are the best I was able to get.

Big Girl Baths!

Since Noelle can sit up so well, we have started to have her sit in her little tub for her bath.  So cute!

And because Brady is Mr. Buttinsky, here are some photos that he insisted we take since Noelle was having her picture taken.  These are almost identical photos, but again, he insisted that I take more than one photo and then refused to smile any differently or do anything differently for the second photo.

Jealous Much?

While I was trying to take pictures of Noelle this morning, Brady insisted on participating.  The irony in all of this is that whenever I try to take his picture in any other situation, he gets upset and tells me no.

7 Months Old!

Time sure does fly.  Here are photos I took of Noelle on December 20.

Get out of the chair.  It's my turn to get some attention big brother!

A lot has changed this month. We started solid foods.  Noelle is not a fan.  After a month, she really shows very little sign of improvement.  So far we have tried oatmeal, breastmilk with the tiniest bit of oatmeal, peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash and peas.  She has no allergies but pretty much spits most of the food back out.

Noelle got her first ear infection and it was a doozy - both ears.  No one got any sleep for a week (except for Brady) and she was tortured with 10 days of antibiotics.  She also got her first stomach bug - it only lasted 12 hours but she was pretty unhappy about it.

We tried to put Noelle and Brady in the same room at bedtime and it was working out pretty well.  She fell asleep first, then I would sneak Brady in and put him in his crib.  She was spending the majority of the night in there (until her 3 or 4am feeding) when we would put her in the pack n play in our room.  We tried to keep her in there all night, but she was waking up at 5ish and when we tried to sneak her out without waking Brady it was a colossal failure.  However, once Noelle got her ear infection, she was back in our room.  And with the holidays and travel on the horizon, we are going to revisit the room sharing after the new year.

She still wakes up twice usually to eat overnight.  We are trying to get rid of one if not both of those feedings but it's slow going and the ear infection only made it worse - we were back to three night feedings for a little while, but I think we kicked that extra one this week.

In the development front, she can sit unsupported for long periods of time and we don't worry about her losing her balance and falling down.  She can reach for toys and knows how to scooch backwards, but the scooching really just annoys her because she does it when she's trying to get something in front of her and only moves herself further from her desired position.  She also very easily pivots around to find new things to enjoy.  No crawling of any kind yet.  No new sounds really, she blows raspberries but we don't have any consonants yet.

She also got her first two teeth, much to my surprise!  Her two bottom middle teeth broke through a couple days ago and are working there way up.

One on One with Noelle

Playing is her exersaucer

"Reading" the newspaper, much like her brother did around the same age.
