3 Months Old!

These are pictures from August 20th...

This would have been a cute picture if she hadn't started to spit up as I took it...

So here is what is up with Noelle. She has found her hands and likes to hold them together. She also tries to put her fingers/hand in her mouth all the time, though so far she hasn't had much success in getting her thumb or finger in her mouth to suck. She is a champion toy batter - she will hit any and all toys hanging from her playmat. Sometimes she grabs the toys and rips them off the mat, too.

She's not rolling either way, though she seems close.

She has become super social. Although we don't have to be holding her, she protests if she's not in the same room with someone. In that same vein, she loves to watch Brady, the cat, the dog or us when we're nearby. She also smiles all the time and coos a lot when she's happy.

Sleep is eh right now. She wakes up to eat twice, sometimes three times in the middle of the night, usually around 12 and 3, and then sometimes around 530. In addition to that, she wakes up whenever she has to burp or fart, then gets angry and needs to be soothed. She doesn't like the pacifier nearly as much as Brady did, so that only works 50% of the time. Because of these sleep issues, she is still in our room and we don't yet have plans to move her in with Brady. She naps OK - usually only 45 minutes at a time on her own, either in her crib or the pack n play in our room. We let her sleep on her belly usually, although we are trying to put her down for some naps swaddled on her back because when she starts daycare in a few weeks, they can't put her down on her stomach without a doctor's note and our doctor wants to wait until she's 4 months old to write the note.

She is a gassy, gassy girl... which may be our problem with sleep. She will burp for hours after a feeding. Even if she's already been burped multiple times. And until the burp is out, she fusses. It's one of the only times she fusses. But it appears to be a major impediment to longer sleep stretches.

Other than that, she's still super easygoing, and has no problem hanging out in the bouncer or even on the play mat for 20-30 minutes. The only place she really hates to be put is her swing, which is odd.
