No Nap Days

For the past couple months, Brady has decided that about once a week, he won't nap at daycare.  It's not that he doesn't need the nap, he just chooses not to listen and take a nap.  Without fail, after school, he falls asleep in the car on the way home and then usually is super cranky until bedtime.  The evening usually consists of lots of crying, whining and tantrums. 

However, there was one occasion where Brady woke up as we came into the house, but then fell back asleep on me when I sat down on the couch with him.  For like 40 minutes.  He hasn't fallen asleep on me in at least a year.  It was so cute I had to document it:

Underwear?!?!?!

So we started to potty train Brady after the 4th.  The first weekend went really well.  We even tried big boy underwear (hence the following pictures).  BUT we quickly learned that Brady likes to pee tiny amounts like every 20 minutes and didn't seem to have any motivation to hold it until he got to the potty.  He also decided (after 2 days of pooping on the potty) that he much prefers to poop in his diaper. 

So for now, we use the potty but he's back in diapers.  We need to get a bad weather weekend and have him run around naked... we probably won't post photos of that ;)

Splash Park

There's a Chicago public pool about 10-15 minutes from our house.  We finally got to go there this week, and both kids love it.  What's especially nice is that there's a splash park for smaller kids and then also the pool.  They enjoy both equally but here's a little video of Brady and Noelle enjoying the splash area.  Please note two things: (1) listen carefully to what Brady says when he comes over - it's pretty funny and (2) just watch how Noelle just keeps walking back and forth while holding onto Sean's fingers, also equally funny.

Walking

Noelle took her first steps on June 13... she isn't quite as quick to take off as Brady was, but she really has started walking around a lot.  Here's a good video of her moving!

Goofing Around in the Dog Bed

This is the tail end of Brady and Noelle playing around in a big dog bed... it must have lasted 5 minutes altogether and boy did they have a good time.

Pool Time

Noelle and Brady also got a chance to play in a kiddie pool in Grandma and Grandpa Thornton's backyard.  Both of them had a lot of fun!

Little Girl in a Big Chair
